About Creature Comfort Chiro

🐾 About Dr Lauren Moroney — Animal & Human Chiropractor in Wauchope & Port Macquarie

Hi, I’m Dr Lauren Moroney, a passionate and experienced Chiropractor for humans and animals with over 20 years of clinical practice. I’m dedicated to helping people, horses, and dogs move better, feel better, and live in balance.

I hold a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science, a Master of Chiropractic, and a Postgraduate Degree in Animal Biomechanical Medicine—a qualification that enables me to provide safe, non-invasive chiropractic and biomechanical therapy for a wide range of animals, including horses, dogs, and cats.

As a qualified Animal Biomechanical Medicine practitioner, I combine the science of chiropractic with a deep understanding of animal anatomy, movement, and musculoskeletal health. Whether treating a companion animal, an older pet, or a horse needing mobility support, I focus on restoring comfort, balance, and functional movement through gentle, evidence-based care.

Based in the beautiful Wauchope and Port Macquarie region of NSW, I run a dedicated clinic offering both human Chiropractic care and animal biomechanical therapy. My approach is gentle, holistic, and tailored to each individual—two-legged or four.

Techniques for Human Chiropractic Care

For my human clients, I draw on a range of evidence-based chiropractic techniques, including:

  • Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT)

  • NeuroImpulse Protocol (NIP)

  • Activator Method (Instrument Based)

  • Diversified Technique (Manual Hands-on Chiro)

  • Flexion Distraction Spinal Decompression Table

  • Torque Release Technique (TRT)

  • Nasal Release Technique (NRT) – particularly beneficial for post-concussion and cranial issues

Animal Chiropractic & Biomechanical Therapy

For my animal patients, I provide non-invasive manual therapy to restore balance, reduce tension, and support optimal movement. My work focuses on musculoskeletal alignment, flexibility, and functional recovery, helping animals:

  • Recover from injury or overuse

  • Improve posture and performance

  • Maintain long-term mobility and comfort

I love working with families—humans and animals alike—and believe true wellbeing comes from caring for the body as a whole.

Frequently Asked Questions

yes, but only for the humans! :)

We treat dogs and cats of all ages and breeds. If you have another type of animal, feel free to contact us to see if we can help.

Common signs include stiffness, limping, changes in gait, reluctance to jump or climb stairs, sitting with legs off to one side, behavioural changes, reduced performance, and pain on touch.

No, a veterinary referral is not required to access animal Chiropractic care. However, we work closely with vets and will refer or consult them if your animal's condition falls outside our scope of practice or requires further diagnosis.

Yes—when performed by a qualified Animal Chiropractor, it is a very safe and gentle form of care. At Creature Comfort Chiro, your animal is treated by a practitioner who has completed a postgraduate two-year degree in Animal Biomechanical Medicine, ensuring a deep understanding of animal anatomy, movement, and safety.

It's important to know that not all Chiropractors or Osteopaths are qualified to treat animals. Practitioners working with animals without the appropriate training are not acting responsibly and may put your pet at risk. Always ensure your animal therapist holds a recognised animal Chiropractic qualification.

We’ll take a thorough history, observe posture and movement, palpate joints and soft tissues, and provide chiropractic adjustments if appropriate. Sessions are designed to be as stress-free and calming as possible, for the humans and the animals! :)

This depends on the condition, age, and overall health of your animal. Some respond quickly, while others benefit from a few visits or ongoing maintenance care.
